Biography of Michael W. Couch:
The Reverend Dr. Michael W. Couch is a native of Mississippi, a devoted pastor, husband, father, and proud son of the Berachah Baptist Church. His life and ministry are dedicated to exalting Christ, strengthening families, and advancing biblical truth in both church and society.
Dr. Couch earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from New York Theological Seminary, where his dissertation focused on empowering believers to steward public resources wisely and to engage the political process for the good of distressed families and struggling neighborhoods. His vision is rooted in the conviction that strong churches and strong families are the foundation of a flourishing community and nation.
Professionally, Dr. Couch serves as Lead Workforce Counselor at Pennsylvania CareerLink, where he works to improve families and communities by providing meaningful employment opportunities and critical resources. He is also Chairman of the Board of Manna Bible Institute, Justice Ambassador for Prison Fellowship, and Northeast Region Director of the Prison Ministry & Criminal Justice Commission of the National Baptist Convention, USA. His leadership extends into civic life as the duly elected Minority Inspector for the Board of Elections in Philadelphia’s 23rd Ward and as Ward Leader of Philadelphia’s 38th Ward—championing policies that promote economic opportunity, public safety, and the preservation of faith and family values.
Dr. Couch’s life mission is clear: to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, defend life and liberty, restore hope to broken communities, and call believers to take their rightful place as salt and light in a darkened world (Matthew 5:13–16).
